Our Colca Tour 2 days Classic is a journey that will take you from Arequipa city to the amazing Colca canyon. In this excursion you will discover a place rich in culture and traditions, breathtaking natural scenary, either crossing the National Reserve observing the wild vicuñas or admiring the artistically elaborated terraces of the valley with its rivers, mountains and gorges. In addition; you’ll get stunned observing the spectacular gliding of the Andean Condor between the walls of the great canyon.
Itinerary
For the Classic Colca Tour (2 Days / 1 Night)
First Day
- From Arequipa to the National Reserve of “Salinas y Aguada Blanca” having views of the Misti, Chachani and PichuPichu volcanoes. Observation of wild Vicuñas (one of the 4 types of American camels) in its natural habitat. Stop at “Tocra”, a high plain where we will observe lakes with wild birds and get pictures of the “Antiplano” with its Llamas and Alpacas.
- Have great views of the volcanoes Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca-Hualca, Mismi (the source of the Amazon River), and the “Cordillera de Chila” at Pata-Pampa. Wonder at the spectacular multicolor views of the terraces of the Colca valley when we get close to Chivay town and Coporaque town.
- Lunch in Lodge La Casa de Mamayacchi.
- After lunch short walk through Coporaque and its surroundings (this walk takes around 1 hour and is optional)
- Visit a natural “hot springs” , where we will enjoy a relaxing bath
Second Day
- Breakfast and driving to the famous “Cruz del Condor” point. Arrive to “Cruz del Condor” and time enough to have an enjoyable view of the deep of the Canyon and if the weather permits; majestic pictures of the flight of the Condors.
- After a coordinated time, short hike and return to Chivay visiting on the route “Antahuilque viewpoint”, “Choquetico” with its hanging tombs “Tumbas colgantes“, and traditional towns
- Time for Lucnh in Chivay town and return to Arequipa city.
*Option with extra charge: Transfer from Chivay to Puno city on Lake Titicaca – additional cost.
